Kogan Active Smart Watch Review

There are a plethora of fitness trackers and wearable technology options available these days. Today I'm going to take a look at a low-cost smartwatch from Kogan.

Features of the Kogan Active  Smart Watch

The Kogan Active Plus Smart Watch is what you're looking at. I'm going to show you all of the different features of this smart watch and discuss any pros and cons you might want to know before you spend your money on it. With this smart watch, you can set some custom watch faces.

Let's get this party started. You can buy this smart watch from the Kogan website, but you could also check Amazon or eBay to see if there are any versions available.

The watch itself is packaged in a small white box. When you open the box, you'll find the following items: one Kogan Active Plus Smart watch. There are also black watch wrist straps included.

You will receive the USB charging device as well as a Quick Start instruction manual. Kogan Active Plus  Watch is packaged with a small protective sticker that is easily removed.

The included wrist strap is black and simple to install. If you are dissatisfied with the black strap, you can purchase red or blue straps from the Kogan website.

While the device measures about 3.5 centimeters by 4 centimeters, the actual screen is much smaller. You can see that the bezel takes up some space around the watch, especially at the bottom.

The Kogan Active Smart Watch has a solid feel to it. It's made of a stiff, black plastic. This LCD screen is a touch screen; there are two buttons here, one on each side of the watch, but the touchscreen is used for the majority of the controls.

To charge the watch, you must use the charging clip included in the box. The Kogan Active Smart Watch easily clips into the charger, and the USB can be plugged into a power outlet or even a free USB slot on your computer.

How long does the Kogan Active Smart Watch's battery last?

When fully charged, this battery is supposed to last between 10 and 15 days. In real-world use, you can probably expect to get about a week out of this before it needs to be charged, which is quite good.

The charging cable is about 35 centimeters long; it is quite short. One of the reasons the battery lasts as long as it does is that the features on this watch are much more basic when compared to the more high-end top-of-the-line smart watches available.

So this is both a pro and a con because you want a longer battery life; it's inconvenient to have to charge your watch every day or every other day, but you're missing out on some of the extra features, such as the ability to customize the watch face.

This watch does not allow you to do as much as a high-end watch does. When you are not actively using the watch, the watch face deactivates and turns off.

How can you reset a Kogan smart watch?

To reactivate the watch, simply raise your arm into the position you'd normally use to look at the screen. As you can see, I'm comparing the Kogan watch to the Samsung watch here. When I twist my wrist to bring up the screen, the Kogan watch is a little slower and less responsive than the Samsung watch, but it always works.

You can also manually wake up the Kogan Active Watch by pressing either of the two buttons on each side of the device. If you hold down both of those buttons for a few seconds, it will begin tracking exercise. This is the pre-installed default watch face.

You can see the date and the day of the week in the upper left corner. The battery indicator is located in the upper right corner. By tapping on the screen, you can switch between viewing the number of steps, kilometers traveled, and calories burned.

There is one thing that irritates me. If you are not wearing the Kogan Active smartWatch and place it on the table, for example, the heart sensor will begin flashing every now and then, which is very bright and quite annoying.

How do I set up my Kogan active Lite smart watch?

You'll need to download an app called Very Fit Pro to set up the watch and track your health stats. You can change some settings on the watch using the app, such as how and when you want to receive notifications. Your watch will vibrate, and you will be able to scroll up and read the message.

You can scroll through some of the fitness stats on the watch by swiping down. Swiping left will present you with four options. With this button, you can turn on or off the heart rate monitor.

Wrist activation can also be turned on or off. By pressing this moon, you can set the device to Do Not Disturb mode, and the last symbol here can be used to find your phone. When you press this button, your phone will ring or vibrate, and you should be able to locate it as long as it is within range.

Is the Kogan Active Smart Watch waterproof?

The Kogan Active watch is waterproof up to 5ATM, so you can wear it in the shower or at the pool but not necessarily at the beach. It would not fare well in salty water.

If you want to exercise, you can choose a sport that you're about to begin here, and there are a few different options to choose from. The heart button will start measuring your heart rate manually, and the relax button will guide you through some relaxing breathing exercises.

This screen also allows you to control and set alarms that will be displayed on the watch. There is no App store with hundreds of different watch faces, so you are stuck with these default watch face settings.

Let's take a look at all of the watch faces that come with this watch. On one hand, I have the Kogan Active Plus Smart Watch and on the other, the Samsung Smart Watch. So I should be able to compare how well this watch recorded my steps to the much more expensive Samsung watch.

Let's go home and look over the results. So the Kogan watch was clearly not recording all of the steps I took on that walk. If you have to choose between these two watches, the more expensive Samsung watch is unquestionably the more accurate.

The difference was so significant that it's clear to me that this Kogan watch isn't accurately recording the number of steps you take in a day.

It's possible that the steps are freezing and then restarting; whatever the case is, it's inaccurate.

Because of this inaccuracy, I find it difficult to recommend Kogan Active Smart Watch Even though it's cheap, and on the surface, it appears to have a lot of features for a low price. That's all there is to it.
