If you are having trouble seeing WhatsApp messages on Apple Watch, then in this article I will show you how you can send messages using iMessage and WhatsApp only without installing any other third party apps on your Apple Watch.
What are your messaging options with iMessage and WhatsApp on Apple Watch?
Without further ado, let me get straight to the point. You can adjust your Apple Watch Messages settings using the Watch app on your iPhone. In this app, you can go into the Messages menu and decide how to receive alerts, change the dictation feature settings, or create ready-made responses for yourself.
Now let's come to reply to messages I would like to start the topic with WhatsApp because more people are using it. WhatsApp does not have an app developed specifically for the Apple Watch, so what you can do is limited.
For example, you cannot initiate a WhatsApp message from your Apple Watch, which is not possible. For this to be possible, WhatsApp needs to develop a special app for Apple so that you can access your message archive on the watch.
But fortunately, thanks to WatchOS, it is possible to reply to the WhatsApp messages you receive on first view. I say first view because if you view the message once and then turn off the notification, you won't be able to view the message again, so you lose your chance to reply.
You can reply to WhatsApp messages in three different ways. All you have to do is click "Reply" right below the incoming message and then choose one of the options that appear.
The first is the Siri dictation feature. When you select this feature, indicated by the microphone icon, Siri transcribes your speech and I have to say it's pretty good at this. After you have finished speaking, you need to click "Send" to send your reply as a message.
Reply with an Emoj
The second option is to reply with an Emoji. When you choose this option, indicated by an emoji, you can give your answer with a single emoji. After selecting an Emoji, the message is sent automatically.
So let me state that you cannot send more than one emoji. Finally, you can give your answer by choosing one of the ready-made suggested answers. You can do this by scrolling down to the bottom of the message and selecting one of the suggested canned responses.
But strangely enough, you can't see the canned answers that you've created yourself in the Watch app, you can only see the suggested canned answers and it's helpful to know these details.
That's it for now, and as I said, your options for responding to WhatsApp messages are somewhat limited. I hope this situation will develop in a positive way as watchOS develops and WhatsApp releases new updates on the subject.
However, the situation is different on the iMessage side. As you know, iMessage is a messaging application developed by Apple and installed on its devices, therefore, the reply features offered by Apple Watch for iMessage are very high.
First, it is possible to start a message from scratch or reply to an existing old message using the Messages app in iMessage installed on your Apple Watch. Apart from that, all the reply options I mentioned before are available for WhatsApp and additional options are available in iMessage.
For example, if the "Voice" or "Text/Voice" options are selected in the Dictation section of the Watch app's settings, it is possible to send an audio recording of your conversation using the Dictation feature.

In addition, iMessage also provides access to several ready-made responses that you create yourself using the Watch app.
These canned responses can be very useful for quickly responding to incoming messages. Turning to the reply options that you can't do with WhatsApp messages, which can only be achieved through iMessage, the first is Digital Touch, which I rarely use.
You can use Digital Touch to draw, tap, or send your heartbeat to friends on an Apple Watch or iPhone with iOS 10 or later. Tap the Digital Touch icon for this. Use your finger to send a drawing.
When you stop drawing, the drawing is sent. Tap the screen briefly with your finger to send one or more taps. Tap the screen one or more times with two fingers to send a kiss.
Release the tap to send to send a heartbeat, tap and hold two fingers on the screen until you feel your heartbeat and see it move on the screen. To send a heartbreak, tap and hold two fingers on the screen until you feel your heartbeat, then swipe down to send.

Press and hold one finger to send a fireball until you see an image of a flame. Release your finger to send. One quick way to reply with iMessage is the Tapback method, which I like very much.
Tap and hold or double-tap the message text to quickly reply with a Tapback, then choose one of the six icons that appear.
You'll see the icon appear at the top right of the message bubble. If you want to reply directly to a message in the thread, tap Reply just below the Tapback icons.
Especially in group messaging, this feature can be very useful for you. If you want to reply to an iMessage with Memoji or Stickers, tap the Memoji icon and select a photo from your collection.
To send a sticker, scroll to the bottom of your group, then tap More Stickers. To create new stickers or see your own, you must use the Messages app on your iPhone.
If you want to reply to an iMessage sent to you by sending your location on a map, you need to do so by entering the Messages app on your Apple Watch after receiving the message notification, you can't do that through the notification.
After entering the application and selecting the relevant message, scroll to the bottom of the screen and press "Send Location". This is how you can send your location to the other party.
If you want to communicate with someone who sent you a message other than the one, you need to enter the Messages app on your Apple Watch and tap on “Details” after swiping the screen down.
Finally, I would like to mention the bonus option for both WhatsApp and iMessage, which is the "Scribble" feature. Scribble is a great writing feature that works in many languages, including English.
With artificial intelligence, you can see the icon of this feature, which converts the characters you type on the screen with your finger to suitable fonts, only when you change the selected language to English or any other supported language.
As you can see, iMessage is actually a very beautiful and comprehensive messaging app on top of that, it cares more about privacy and security than other messaging apps.

But unfortunately it is not widely used as it only works on Apple devices. I personally send a message to my friends and family who use Apple via iMessage. I advise you to use it.
I think I have covered all the relevant points about How Does Imessage and Whatsapp Work on Apple Watch?
I hope it will be useful for Apple Watch users If there is something you think I missed, you can reach me in the comments section. In addition to hundreds of features, the Apple Watch is a device that helps users with messaging. That's all from me now.
