Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic vs. Apple Watch 7. Which is superior?

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic vs. Apple Watch 7; Which is better? Samsung With Google Wear OS or the Apple Watch With Watch OS 8?

This week, I'm comparing the two most popular smartwatches in the wearable technologies category, as well as their key features such as design, hardware, and software.

First and foremost, I must state that both of them only work within their respective ecosystems, namely, the Apple Watch only works with iPhones and the Galaxy Watch 4 only works with Android phones.

As a result, this section should appeal to those who plan to buy phones based on smart watches or to technology enthusiasts looking for a more realistic version.

In comparison, I'm quickly going through the contents of the box because they're the same. The set includes the watch, strap, and charging cradles. There is no adapter for either of these.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic vs. Apple Watch 7 In terms of design

The distinction begins with the design and materials used, as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 resembles traditional watches with its rounded lines, whereas the Apple Watch resembles miniature smartphones with its rectangular structure.

While Samsung offers both aluminum and stainless steel body versions in a variety of sizes such as 40, 42, 44, and 46mm, Apple only offers 41 and 45mm aluminum body options in our country.

On the front, Apple uses sapphire crystal glass, whereas the Galaxy Watch uses Gorilla Glass DX glass. In other words, the materials used in both watches are of high quality and robust.

However, if you keep banging your arm against the door or furniture, as I do, you won't be able to avoid scratches after a while.

Because we usually take blows from the sides, you might prefer classic models with metal frames on the Samsung Galaxy Watch side to protect the screens.

Samsung offers optional touch screen or physical metal frame options in the bezel system, which facilitates menu navigation, whereas Apple provides this feature with a button that can rotate around itself on the side.

Samsung offers leather and silicone band alternatives, whereas Apple Watch bands offer a wider range of material and color options, including silicone, cloth, and leather. Furthermore, I can say that the designs are quite stylish.

The most significant distinction is in the belt fastening systems. Because, unlike Samsung, which uses 20mm standard inputs that are easily accessible from all watchmakers, Apple has a unique connection that can only be used within Apple.

As a result, because the design features of smart watches have no effect on their functionality, I believe you can evaluate them completely based on your preferences and budget.

On the hardware side, both brands' screen resolutions, always-on display, connection options such as GPS, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, sensor types, speaker, microphone, and water resistance are very similar.

However, there are some areas where they differ or outperform one another: When it comes to screen features, for example, the Apple Watch 7 is larger with its 1.8 inch dimensions, and its rectangular structure allows it to display items such as text, icons, or images more easily.

On the memory front, the Galaxy Watch 4 has 16 GB of storage space, while the Apple Watch has 32 GB.

Galaxy Watch 4 Classic vs. Apple Watch 7 In terms of  battery specifications

Apple employs a 310 mAh battery due to its thin design, whereas Samsung employs a 361 mAh battery due to its slightly thicker structure.

As a result, when both are used with all features enabled, the Galaxy Watch 4 can last up to 1.5 days, while the Apple Watch can last one full day with the same features.

When I was using smart watches, I charged them every evening so that I wouldn't have any problems the next day. However, I believe that Samsung's battery, which lasts a little longer, can save lives, particularly in emergency situations.

Galaxy 4 Classic vs. Apple 7 In terms of Interoperability with other phones

While Samsung continues to support all Android phones, Apple's limited support for iPhones vanished with the release of the Wear OS operating system. Since the first day it was released, Apple has only been available on iPhones.

As a result, the Galaxy Watch 4 series can be used with any Android phone via the Samsung Wearable and Health apps, whereas Apple Watches can only be used with iPhones.

Let's take a look at what Google Wear OS and Apple Watch OS 8 have to offer. When it comes to external application support, Apple has a significant advantage because almost all of them have smartwatch support, including the camera, finance, sports, security, health, and even social media apps like Whatsapp and Instagram on my iPhone.

By the way, the Apple Watch social media apps were created by third-party software companies, so they are not original, but I can say that they all work flawlessly.

For those who are interested, I have added the section link to both the descriptions and the cards. Google's PlayStore application market is now available in the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

However, the number of alternatives available for use in smart watches is still insufficient. Google Maps can be used as a navigation application on the Galaxy Watch 4, and Maps applications can be used on the Apple Watch.

Furthermore, both display route information in writing and on a map, as well as providing audible and vibrating warnings when turning.

To listen to music, you can use either of the smart watches' built-in apps or external services such as Youtube Music, Spotify, or Shazam.

We can also listen to playlists or songs by connecting them to external Bluetooth headphones or speakers. At this point, the Apple Watch is more advantageous due to its 32 GB storage capacity.

I believe that the Galaxy Watch 4 has a significant advantage in terms of watch face options because it has hundreds of internal and external options that can be customized with everything from background, color, hands, and indicators.

You can move around certain patterns on the Apple Watch. However, because each of the available options is a design marvel, I can say that this shortcoming does not bother us in the least. When it comes to notification features, both support Turkish characters, photos, emojis, and message replying.

The most serious issue I've noticed with the Samsung Watch 4 series is that notifications such as email or messages are delayed in reaching the smart watch. However, the issue I mentioned will undoubtedly be resolved in the near future with a software update.

If any of you have had similar experiences with the Galaxy Watch 4 series, I would appreciate it if you could share them with us. While the voice assistant, which also supports Turkish, has been in Apple Watch smart watches for a long time, Samsung smart watches use Bixby, which has not supported Turkish for years.

However, as I mentioned in my review of the watch, Google Assistant with Turkish language support will be available for the Samsung Watch 4 in the near future.

In terms of health monitoring, both brands' smart watches can measure oxygen levels, heart rate, blood pressure, EKG, and sleep monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 includes features such as Bioimpedance, which measures body fat and muscle ratio, snoring and stress monitoring, and blood pressure and blood pressure monitoring, which is not yet available in our country.

As a result, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has more health tracking options than the Apple Watch Series. Finally, both brands, in my opinion, provide more than expected in terms of training tracking.

While there are training types that we are unlikely to use, it also includes features such as automatic detection of training or taking a break.

Finally, when I compare the two smart watches, I find that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is superior due to its lower price, more comprehensive health monitoring, and longer battery life.

The Apple Watch Series, on the other hand, distinguishes itself with a stable operating system, smart watch support for almost all phone applications, a growing screen, Turkish Siri support, and two additional capacity memories.
