Maimo Watch; Today I'm reviewing another watch from the 70 70 Mi Maimo company, which has been rebranded as Maimo, as evidenced by the inscription on the box.
The new model is designated as WT2105, and the main differences between it and the previous model, WT1004, are the lack of a GPS module and a barometer.
Maimo Watch Specifications
We also reduced the size of the screen (1.69 "versus 1.78") and made it a simple TFT rather than a nice juicy AMOLED, but they added the blood oxygen level sensor, which is desperately needed now, SpO2.
Model - Maimo Smart watch WT2105 Interface - Bluetooth 5.0 BLE Screen - 1.69 inch TFT Sensors include a heart rate monitor, a g-sensor, and an ambient light sensor.
5 ATM water resistance 300 mAh battery Battery life: typical use - 10 days / basic mode - 21 days Charging time: approximately 1.5 hours Size without strap - 43.75 * 37 * 11 mm The device is delivered in the same black, dense, and beautiful box as the previous model.
In addition to Mi Maimo, there is a charging cable, a nice orange spare strap (in my kit), and instructions in 10 languages, including Russian or Polish, for example, which one is closer to whom, or which one you are currently studying.
The manual includes a QR code - a link to the new Maimo Fit application for connecting with a smartphone - as well as a very detailed description of working with the screen and the device's single button, which will undoubtedly please owners of this first smart watch.
The manufacturer wasn't even too lazy to include instructions for changing the strap and connecting the magnetic charging cable.
Maimo is available in two colors: black and rose gold, and the strap can be customized to match the color of the case. Black pairs well with black and, as an option, a spare orange, while rose gold pairs well with white and a spare green. If you look hard enough, you can find replacement straps in green and blue. All variants are very stylish, and the pleasant-to-touch materials of the case and the soft-touch coating of the strap give the product a very good first impression.
There is only one button on the right side of the body, which is responsible for basic functions like turning on the screen, pausing during exercise, and calling the Amazon Alexa voice assistant, which is simply not supported in our latitudes.
The wheel spins as well, but this is purely for fun as it has no functional effect, as one might expect, though the manufacturer could hang the scrolling of lists or menus on it.
A heart rate sensor, charging contacts, and a microphone are located on the back of the watch. By the way, the charging cable here has its own unique characteristics, so don't try to lose it!
When you first turn it on, it will ask you to sync it with your smartphone and will provide you with a QR code to download the app from the Google Play Market.

After installation, Maimo Fit will prompt you to choose a region, as well as system permissions to access media files and the device's location, and will also prompt you to create a new user account or log into an existing one.
Furthermore, you cannot avoid registering because the parameters you specified (height/weight/age) will affect the calculations of various parameters, such as the working heart rate zone when various types of training are turned on, the permissible stress level for your age, and so on.
You'll be prompted to add a device after you've synced your account. Maimo currently has only a few hours, but I believe this will change soon. If the device is linked to a different account, Maimo Fit will walk you through the reconnecting process. Following the installation and synchronization of the app
What can the Maimo smart watch do?
When you tap the screen or press the side button, the device wakes up. When raising your hand, you can also choose to activate the dial. The main screen appears immediately, usually displaying the time and basic indicators such as steps taken per day, calories burned, or heart rate.
What appears on the screen is determined by the watch face that you have installed. By pressing and holding the screen for 2 seconds, you can select one of four pre-programmed options, or you can search the network using the application.
For the fall of 2021, 3-4 dozen skins are already available for the main screen; there are some very cute ones; it is clear that the manufacturer is attempting to have more, and not just for the sake of appearance.
Swiping from the main screen takes us to the device's various functional areas. Swiping from top to bottom brings up the notification curtain, just like on a smartphone.
The apps from which you want to receive notifications must be chosen in the Maimo Fit app. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal four quick settings.
Do not disturb mode, turn on the screen when you raise your hand, screen brightness from 1 to 5 levels, and the find phone function, which when pressed, plays a loud pleasant melody on the phone and vibrates to the beat of the music.
This is in case you left your phone under the pillow, in the duvet cover, or on the toilet shelf. The screen also shows the charge level, which, by the way, is not displayed on all dials on the main screen, as well as the status of the smartphone connection and the current time.

Swiping left or right from the main screen brings us to the widget carousel. The smartphone app allows you to customize their order and number.
By default, this is a heart rate monitor, oximeter, stressometer, training modes, weather, Amazon Alexa voice assistant, music control on the smartphone, and the last (or first, depending on whether you swiped left or right) widget is a daily activity diagram - steps, calories.
When using the first three modes (heart rate monitor, oximeter, and stressometer), if the watch is not worn on the wrist or does not fit snugly on the wrist, you will be asked to tighten it in your google-translate manner.
The variety of available training modes is impressive. There's street running, a treadmill, yoga, and a variety of other activities available at your leisure.
The application allows you to change the order in which the workouts appear, but unlike widgets, Mi Maimo can be hidden when not in use, the list of available workouts is always complete. It's unclear why it was impossible to make it possible to hide unused activities.
When was your last game of cricket?
Perhaps this vexing misunderstanding will be addressed in the program's next release. You can set a goal for each training mode by clicking on the ellipsis - by time (from 5 to 300 minutes), calories burned (from 25 to 1000 kcal), distance (from 0.1 to 999 km), or simply without a goal, in which case you will have to stop the program manually by pressing the side button.
At the end of the workout, you will have access to complete statistics - by time, distance, calorie consumption, heart rate, steps taken, and, if you have allowed the application to use the Location of the device (aka GPS) in your smartphone, you will even see the workout route, but only in the app, not on the watch.
The weather widget is up next. It's straightforward; it displays the current weather. Weather synchronization must be enabled in the application.
Amore detailed version of the weather is available, but it is hidden in the side key menu; more on that later. The player control widget on the phone appears after the weather. Play/pause, next/previous, and volume are all available.
It does not display the title of the song or the artist for some reason. The weather is followed by a pointless AmazonAlexa voice assistant widget, which can also be accessed with a 2-second press of the side button. It informs us that Alexa is not available in our area.
The activity diagram is the final widget. Just a picture that repeats information from the main screen about steps taken throughout the day, calories burned, and activity mode - standing. Despite skepticism, even such a gentle calorie-burning regimen will be beneficial.
Those who lead sedentary lifestyles in particular. By pressing the side button, you can access the settings or extended menu. In addition to the widgets we are already familiar with, we can find new items that expand the functionality of the watch here.
"Also read: Carbinox Smart watch Fitness Tracker for iphone"
The first item on the list is Health Data, which contains the familiar activity chart as well as the progress of our daily calorie goals, steps taken, "standing up," and the most recent workout.
We can skip the next two paragraphs, which are about Training, and Amazon Alexa. Everything is the same as it was with widgets. The item Recordings of training sessions follows. The type of training, date, and time are all displayed here.
By clicking on any record, we can view detailed statistics for any recorded workout. Following the recordings of your workouts, there are three items that we are already familiar with: "Pulse", "Blood oxygen level", and "Stress".
Mi Maimo smart watch displays a graph of the measured values throughout the day. The following item is "Breathing training," in which you are asked to perform breathing exercises while setting the pace (fast, medium, or slow) and time (1 to 5 minutes).
Following the completion of the breathing exercises, Maimo smart watch will commend you and show you a change in heart rate, which will, of course, be for the better.
One of the most important items, in my opinion, did not find a place in the widgets, so it was hidden in this menu. This is, of course, "Dream.".
Excellent statistics on sleep intervals and phases. Please contact your nearest clinic for more information. Joke. Of course, in the application. Of course, after a good night's sleep, I'll want to know what the weather is like today.
If the widgets only showed the temperature at the time of clock synchronization, this menu also shows humidity, wind strength, UV solar radiation, and temperature for the next 5 days.
The familiar player controls on a smartphone can be seen in the following item, "Music." At the same time, there was no room for the song's and artist's names.
Stopwatch, Alarm, and Timer are the time items that come after the music. In the stopwatch, you can cut circles of alarm clocks, set exactly more than 5 pieces by setting the operation on days of the week, and set the timer arbitrary or from the available options.
I'm not sure why the calculator wasn't included in this menu. There would be plenty of room for everyone. The following item is familiar to us from the quick menu, which can be accessed from the main screen by swiping from the bottom up - this is a phone search.
At this point, the smartphone nearby buzzes and screeches. Of course, this only works when the watch is paired with a lost one in a Bluetooth coverage area. The final item in the main menu is Settings, which has a plethora of sub-items.

Everything is in order. The dials are the first sub-item of the settings, which have already been flashed or downloaded via the application. As we recall, a 2-second press on the main screen brings up the same menu.
The second sub-item is Brightness, where you can choose one of five levels of screen brightness and the time after which the screen turns off due to inactivity, which ranges from 5 to 20 seconds.
You can also put auto brightness here, which works with the built-in light sensor, and the time interval (for example, at night) when the brightness is automatically reduced to a minimum.
The third setting sub-item is the Do not disturb mode, which prevents Maimo smart watch from vibrating when receiving notifications. The response time interval can be customized.
The fourth setting sub-item is Auto-detection, where we can ask the watch to determine when we started training, such as walking or running.
To put it bluntly, auto-detection is mediocre at best, so it's preferable to begin a workout from the appropriate menu item or widget. The 24-hour format is covered in the fifth subparagraph. We can run at home or on Venice Beach in the United States (where the 12-hour format, AM, PM, is all).
System is the sixth sub-item in the settings. There are hidden items such as "Restart," "Turn off the device," and "Reset," which are useful when synchronization with the phone "freezes," and "Reset," which resets the watch to factory settings.
The setup menu's final sub-item is Information, which displays the device name, model, MAC address, and firmware version.
The Maimo Fit application's capabilities
Now that we've figured out Maimo watch, let's take a look at the capabilities of the proprietary Maimo Fit application. Following installation and registration on the main screen, we are presented with the already familiar diagram of activities - calories, steps, getting up, today's workout, if it was, and all the measurements taken by the watch - Pulse, Stress, Energy, Sleep, and SpO2 (aka the oxygen level in blood).
When you click on any activity or a measured parameter, such as heart rate or sleep, we'll get into detailed statistics that Mi Maimo smart watch simply cannot display.
In training, you can view all of the data in detail and share it as a large jpeg file. By selecting any day on the calendar, you can view the history of measurements and activities.

Statistics are also available not only for a single day, but also for a week, a month, and the entire year. All devices connected through the application will be displayed on the second tab of the application, Devices.
We can access the settings by clicking on the watch icon. First and foremost, you will be prompted to grant the app access to your notifications.
Furthermore, you can choose which applications' notifications are sent to the watch, rather than all of them at once. You can change the dial of the watch's main screen after receiving notifications in the settings. Here you can select from those that are available on the network, have been drawn by the developer, and are not simply sewn into the watch.
You can control the order and visibility of the widgets caused by swiping left or right from the main screen of Mi Maimo watch in the Personalization section, and you can also organize the list of workouts, but you cannot hide rarely used ones from them.
There are some critical settings in the following paragraph, "Monitoring health status," that I do not recommend skipping.
The first sub-item is continuous heart rate monitoring, and you can set the maximum heart rate and turn on the notification if your maximum heart rate is exceeded while training.
The second sub-item is blood pressure monitoring, which includes a reminder of the dangers of high blood pressure. The third subparagraph is a reminder to drink water during a specific time period, such as from 9:00 to 21:00.
Every hour, the phone will vibrate and save you from dehydration with a glass of water, and the fourth subparagraph is a reminder of the walk, so you don't sit up your butt, but instead walk in for some fresh air.
The following setting duplicates the previously configured Notifications from applications on the smartphone. Following the notifications is the Weather item, where you will be asked to synchronize weather data by manually entering your location or using your smartphone's geolocation.
The weather is followed by the item User manual, which is not only in English, but it is also downloaded from the network. The final option is Additional settings, which has no settings but allows you to check for updates and view device information.
It is worth noting that the firmware is updated on a regular basis. After only two weeks of testing, two updates were released! The last thing we'll look at is the Profile tab in the Maimo Fit app's main menu.
You can (and should) set daily goals for calories, steps, standing / getting up, and healthy sleep, as well as your personal parameters, which will influence tips and calculations in applications - height, weight, maximum heart rate, date of birth, and so on.
More importantly, you can mark the item "Access to third-party data," where you can configure synchronization with the Google Fit application.
A few words about the duration of the work should be said. Because the watch lacks GPS and the screen consumes little power, the device can last for a very long time.
Naturally, the operating time is highly dependent on the intensity with which the device is used in terms of training frequency, continuous heart rate measurement, and how much information you want to know about your sleep quality.

The actual charging time is only 1 hour, not from full 0, but from 10%, which is also not bad. Among the shortcomings, it is worth noting the lack of NFC, minor translation inaccuracies and the rare "freeze" of synchronization with the application on the smartphone, which is treated by restarting the watch.
