Apple glasses; Smart glasses are a product that we've all heard about and that many of us have been waiting for, and they're finally going to be a reality. I'll explain why many of you will want to buy them in 2023.
I'll also go over everything we know about the new Apple Glasses from leaks and rumors, such as the features we know they'll have, those we'd like to see, the earliest possible release date, and when we'll most likely see them.
Quick primer on smart glasses
Let's start with a quick primer on smart glasses. glasses google Explorer Edition was first released in 2013 as a limited edition product.
Max wanted to try them out, but he couldn't because they were invite-only, and even if you did get the chance, you'd have to pay a hefty $1,500 to do so.

It could take photos and videos, text messages and phone calls, use Google and Google Hangouts, and get directions. Of course, they never finished the public product and have since focused on other models for professional and commercial use.
After 8 years, we are finally getting Smart Glasses this time from Apple. So let us get right into what we know. It was revealed in November of 2019 that Apple plans to release an AR/VR headset in 2022, followed by a pair of AR glasses in 2023.
The Headset is essentially a slimmer version of the Oculus Quest Headset. Newer rumors from Jon Prosser suggest that they could arrive as early as 2021, but most agree that late 2022 is much more likely.

Let's talk about the design and what's most exciting about Apple Glasses, as well as what could be a major letdown.
According to Jon Prosser, who claims to have seen the Apple Glasses in person and described them as "sleek as hell," leaked images show that they will look like regular glasses, similar to Ray-Bans.
This alone will make them far more acceptable than other smart glasses, particularly Google Glass, which lacked lenses and had a large chunk hanging off the right side, and people who wore them were dubbed â€Glassholesâ€.
There are also rumors that Apple is working on a limited steve jobs heritage edition model, which would be extremely expensive, similar to the limited edition 18k gold Apple watch, and have a design similar to steve jobs iconic glasses.
I have to agree with Mark Gurman that this is highly unlikely based on technology alone, unless Apple will put a frame around them like Snapchat's latest specs.
What TMS interesting is that Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has stated that Apple Glasses may eventually replace the iPhone, and they'd have to look good for that to happen.

Apple glasses display
The display is the most important design change that needs to be made. We can't have a thick chunk hanging over your eye like Google Glass, and thankfully.
We know that Apple glasses will not only display information on the lenses themselves, but also on both lenses, allowing you to have more information available without blocking your vision.
The UI is called starboard, and it is based on springboard for iso, which is basically what runs your home screen and widgets on your iPhone, so we know the interface will be clean, simple, and easy to use.
Furthermore, Jon stated that other people will not be able to tell that the glasses are digital unless they are wearing them, which means that the display will be invisible to others, which is fantastic, and they will not stand out to people.
One of the most pressing concerns is how you will interact with the glasses. The most obvious method is to interact by touching the frame, as with Glass Google , but this limits what you can do; the second method is to use voice commands.
This gives you a lot of capabilities and actually works quite well with airpods, but if you've ever been in a crowd and started calling out to Siri, you'll know how awkward this is, and it's also spotty in noisy environments.

The next one could be hand gestures, which could be enabled by special built-in sensors, but walking around doing minority report-like gestures would be extremely disturbing.
Finally, we have the craziest method, for which we have a lot of evidence, and that is eye tracking.

Apple recently filed a patent stating that the device could be controlled with eye movements, blinks, and stares, and that this technique results in a more natural and efficient interface.
My only concern is that if people don't notice anything digital on your glasses, you'll be walking down the street with your eyes twitching, which would be extremely strange, but please let me know what you think and what method you prefer.
Apple Glasses Pros and Cons
Before I get into the cons, let's talk about a feature that Apple is really banking on, which was previously leaked as a new 3D sensor system.
This turned out to be the same set of lidar sensors found in the new iPhone 12 Pro, and is supposed to be located on the right side of the glasses. LiDAR stands for light detection and ranging, and it measures distance using laser beams.
That is how you can use it to map rooms and improve portrait mode photos. It is also the technology used in many self-driving cars, and the LiDAR scanner is the main technology underlying the premise of AR in Apple Glasses.
This means that apps can interact with the real world rather than simply displaying information in the corner of the screen.
For example, if you're using maps, an arrow can show you where you need to turn, and the names of shops or your destination can show up right where you need them.
It will also improve the accuracy of searches such as â€find my airpods,†even guiding you to their exact location, and it will do the same for items marked with Apple's upcoming Airtags.
It may even assist you in finding objects such as your keys if they are visible, as well as other tasks such as identifying buttons on a car's dashboard, which is really cool.
Another recently leaked patent discussed Apple Glasses' ability to automatically unlock all of your devices if you have them on. This is a really cool feature from Apple that focuses on efficiency with their products.
If the user does not want their devices to be automatically unlocked, their patent includes alternative options. They could, for example, unlock their devices using gestures or voice commands instead.

The LiDAR scanner in the glasses could also be used to help people see better in low-light conditions, similar to night vision, which is fantastic. The strange thing is that there is talk of the glasses not having cameras because of privacy concerns.
I understand the privacy concerns, but this makes no sense to me because photo and video recording was one of the coolest features of Google Glass, allowing you to capture moments in your life completely hands free while remaining fully present rather than staring at a phone.
On top of that, you get a really cool first person perspective, so when you watch your video back, it's almost as if you're seeing it for the first time and reliving those moments.
This would be one of the most appealing features, and with these arriving in 2022 rather than 2013, the photo and video quality would be excellent, despite the fact that Google Glass looked great at the time.

However, a patent reveals that Apple intends to incorporate auto-adjusting technology into their glasses, most likely their second-generation glasses.
This will essentially adjust the lenses to your personal prescription. This excites me because I not only wear glasses but also have terrible vision and can't see anything without them. Why did Google cancel their Glass, which sounded so cool and convenient?
I believe there were two major reasons. First and foremost, there was the issue of battery life. The fact that they only lasted about 3 and a half hours was the biggest disadvantage.
For Apple glasses to succeed they need to last all day like the apple watch, and Apple glasses are currently in the second stage of development where they are working on making them lighter and improving battery life.

Apple glasses price
The second reason is the price. Google Glass came in at that shocking $1500 and I dont think google could get the component costs low enough to match what consumers were willing to pay.
According to Prosser, Apple glasses are likely gonna cost around $500 and a bit more with an included prescription, which is in a similar price range as the Apple watch series 6.
I believe it will be a long time before Apple glasses replace iPhones, but for the time being, they're more of an alternative to an apple watch, and they'll do most, if not all, of the things the watch can without you having to raise your wrist. As a result, I believe that Apple glasses will be a much better option, and that many people will purchase them in 2022.

Rather than creating a portal into an imagined world, it uses screens or clear glasses to overlay digital content on top of the real environment around you.
The most common example of this in action is the lenses and filters available on Instagram and Snapchat that make you look like you have a squished face, a dog's tongue, or hearts shooting out of your eyeballs.
Augmented reality glasses are currently available on the market from companies such as Vuzix, Epson, and Vue. They are the most powerful rivals.
However, many of them are only available for enterprise use in large companies or were designed for a specific purpose. The Microsoft Hololens 2 on the other hand.
Apple's smart glasses may have taken longer than expected to reach the market, but they will undoubtedly be released when the time is right. Good things take time, and with such a well-known brand and reputation, Apple would never consider developing products that would tarnish its image.
