Top 20 Unknown Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Features

The following are the top 20 undiscovered features of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. The first thing I'd like to emphasize is that you should not use the body composition measurement if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker.

There's a brief warning not to do this the first time you use it, but it's easy to overlook. So I wanted to make that point before diving into the features. So, now that we've cleared that up, let's get started.

If you enable developer options, you can use the watch as a desk clock. Then, to enable a specific feature, go to settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap about watch. Then, scroll down a little and select software.

Then, five times, tap the software version. As a result, developer mode is enabled. Return to your settings, and you'll see a developer options tab that you can enable to stay awake while charging.

Once enabled, the watch face will remain visible while the watch is charging. Keep in mind that this will obviously cause the watch to take longer to charge. But that feature is available if you desire it, and if you're wondering what the stand I'm using is for, it's actually just a small holder for the charger that comes with your Galaxy Watch.

The USB end of the cable slides down through this small slot in the bottom. Then you pull the cord all the way through until the charging pack fits perfectly, and there's a slot on the bottom to keep the court in place, and I also got this one foot extender cable because the cable on the charger is actually quite short, and I needed something a little bit longer to work on my desk.

Then there are two more options: transition animation scale and animator duration scale tapping. One of these allows you to change the animation speed. You can even turn the animations off completely to see exactly what is changing.

I'll slow the animation down so you can see exactly what it's doing. The size of the window animation changes depending on how quickly you switch between pages. When switching from one app to another, transition animation is used.

"Also read: apple-watch-series-7-review-price"

Animated duration refers to the animation from one screen to the next, such as when swiping back, pulling down the quick toggles, or switching to the app screen. Obviously, you don't want to slow down those animations, but you can make them twice as fast or turn them off entirely if you want everything to feel even faster on the watch.

To enable these, the Galaxy Watch 4 supports gestures for answering calls or dismissing alerts. Return to your settings. Scroll down and press the button. Advanced functions. Then, scroll down until you see the gesture section, and tap the answers call option to turn it on, allowing you to answer calls.

By shaking your wrist up and down, as shown in this image, and tapping tutorial, you'll be able to give it a try. So if I lift my arm and shake it in this manner, it will tell me that I did everything correctly.

If you back out of here, you'll be able to tap the dismiss alerts and calls option, and if I turn this on, I'll be able to dismiss calls and alerts by simply rotating my wrist back and forth a couple of times. If you have an app running in the background, a small icon related to that app will appear at the bottom of your watch face.

So it's currently showing a stopwatch going around. If I tap that, it takes me to my stopwatch application because it's currently running, and if I stop the stopwatch, turn it off, and return, you'll notice that icon has vanished.

Unknown Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Features

This applies to almost any application that can run in the background on your watch. So, right now, I'm doing a circuit training workout, and it's displaying the specific workout that it's running.

If I tap this, it will take me directly to the workout screen, and here's a music icon for the music application that is currently running. When you open the compass app, swipe up, then swipe up again.

You have the option to enable and calibrate location tracking, and if you enable location tracking, you will be able to see both your altitude and the barometric pressure. You can now see your latitude and longitude by scrolling down.

The default typing options for the Galaxy Watch 4 and classic are abysmal. You can convert speech to text, but it's not ideal. If you want to have a private conversation in a crowded area.

You can send a voice recording, but this option does not work for the same reason as the first. You can send an emoji, draw the individual letters, but that will take a long time, and you also get nine text options, which is also a very slow way to type.

Fortunately, there is a much faster option available by downloading an app from the Google Play store. So let's head over to the Google Play Store.

"Also read: How To Clean Your AirPods?"

Select the search icon. Tap the keyboard and look for the G board. Once you've selected a Titan, tap the result.

It'll say something like, gee, board the Google keyboard, then tap install. After installing it, you must enable it in your settings. So we'll go ahead and go into settings, scroll down to general, tap that, then input, and finally keyboard.

Wordlist and default went up, default keyboard, and then G board. You'll get a full quality style keyboard if you tap the keyboard option again and then tap in the message.

This also supports swipe, which is much faster than any other typing method, and it is now possible to send meaningful messages directly from your watch.

You're probably aware that the Galaxy Watch 4 accepts both Samsung and Google Pay. And in case you didn't know, Google Pay is now available.

All you have to do is go to the Google Play Store and get it. Unfortunately, if you hold the back button and want to use Google Pay, it will only open up Samsung Pay, and there is currently no way to change that.

You can, however, create a double-click shortcut with the home button to open up Google pay instead, and if you use both Samsung pay and Google pay, you now have two quick shortcuts to open up whichever one you prefer to use to enable this feature.

Go to settings, then scroll down to advanced features, then customize keys. Then, press twice. The most recent application is the default option. However, if you have Google Pay installed, you can scroll down a little and use Google Pay for the shortcut. Why are we considering these personalized key options?

You can also change the default press and hold option for the home button if you scroll down a little. That will require a Bigsby. You can, however, change this to enable the power off menu instead.

However, I strongly advise against doing so and instead keeping Bixby enabled, as I'll explain in a moment. You can also customize a short press on the back by scrolling down in the Customize Key section.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Features

By default, this will just take you back one page. However, you can return to the previous page by swiping from left to right. So having both a swipe and a key do the same thing is kind of redundant. So, when I tap this, I also get the option to show recent applications. And this is far more beneficial.

So now, if I press the back button, I can see all of my recently used applications. I can also dismiss an application by simply swiping up. Alternatively, if I swipe all the way to the left on the close all button, I can close all the applications at once.

If I start playing music on my phone, I'll immediately see a music icon telling me that the music is playing, and if I tap that icon, I'll be taken to the media controls, where I can see more information about the music that's playing.

I can listen to music, pause it, skip tracks, and even adjust the volume. However, if you want the screen to appear on your watch automatically as soon as the music begins playing, rather than having to tap to open a screen, you can much more quickly adjust things like volume by simply scrolling the bezel without even looking at the watch.

Then there is a way to enable it in the settings. Back in settings, scroll down and tap display, then scroll down until you see the option called show media controls and tap that.

So now, if I return to the watch face screen and start playing music on my phone, it will automatically launch the music application.

Instead of pulling down the quick toggles and searching for the power menu to turn off the watch, you can simply hold both the back and home buttons for a couple of seconds to return to the same menu.

This menu also displays the option for touch sensitivity, allowing you to use your Galaxy Watch while wearing thick gloves. Unfortunately, I already have this glove on and am unable to activate touch sensitivity.

Samsung's Bixby digital  powerful features.

However, this is where another unknown feature comes in handy, and that feature is just how powerful Bixby is. For now, I'm just going to use it to enable touch sensitivity, and voila, I can now interact with my watch while wearing thick gloves by returning to the quick toggles.

If you long press any of these quick toggles, I'll give you a quick bonus unknown feature. It will bring up this small customization menu. Then you can long press them and drag them to any other screen, dropping them wherever you want.

This is a great way to quickly prepare your favorite. Togo is even easier to access, and if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you'll see the option to add more quick toggles, and if you delete any from these pages, you can add them back in with the plus icon, and while we're here, I'd like to quickly go over what these toggles do, because some of them aren't immediately obvious just by looking at the icon.

The first is self-evident. It's a flashlight that transforms your watch into one, and in a dark room, this is actually very bright, and if you tap the screen, you can change the brightness of the flashlight and even make it flash, and this isn't an S.O.S. type message. It's literally just flashing on and off, and if you tap it again, it just goes back to its max brightness.

These two raindrops activate water lock mode, which prevents you from interacting with your screen in any way. This is ideal for use while swimming or even washing dishes. But I personally use this when changing one of my kids' diapers, because if you've ever tried to change your baby's diaper with anything on your wrist, they're always trying to grab at it.

I've had messages sent, e-mails deleted, and phone calls initiated, which is why I began using this feature. To prevent this from happening, I change one of the diapers every time, and to turn off water lock mode, simply hold the home button for two seconds. This is a phone finder, not a search icon.

So my phone is going to start ringing right now. I can put an end to it here. This option is called bedtime mode, and it dims your screen significantly. It also disables all of the wake-up gestures. So, if my screen is turned off and I rotate my wrist, it will not turn the screen on the bezels.

Tapping the screen has no effect either. The only way to turn on the screen and enable bedtime mode is to press one of these two buttons, and from here, I can turn off bedtime mode. So if you're going to use sleep tracking with this watch, this mode is extremely useful, and by the way, here's another bonus tip that you just saw.

To exit quickly, simply turn off your watch's screen. You only need to cover it with your palm. If you don't have ambient mode enabled, the screen will either go into sleep mode or turn off completely.

This next toggle, which is about ambient mode, is about that. So if you tap that ambient mode turns off, and if I put my palm on the screen, you can see that the screen turns completely off.

The next one is self-evident. It's simply a brightness adjustment for the screen. This toggle allows you to quickly set your watch to vibrate, silent, or have the sound turned on.

The center icon enables do not disturb mode, and if paired with a Samsung phone, this will sync do not disturb mode with your Samsung phone. When paired with a non-Samsung Android phone, the watch only enters do not disturb mode.

This is obviously your settings toggle, which allows you to quickly access your settings. Here is the power menu I showed you earlier. This is a shortcut for setting individual volume levels. As a result, you can customize it for your ringtone, media notifications, system sounds, and Bixby separately.

This toggle activates a power-saving mode. This cinema-like icon is known as theater mode, and if you scroll all the way down, you'll notice that it is disabled. You're always on display, it disables the raised waikk feature, all system sounds, your alarm sounds, and even the timer sound, and it only does this for a limited time.

The default is two hours, but you can change it to one hour, three hours, or four hours if you prefer, and this is specifically for when you're watching a movie in a theater and don't want your watch lighting up and bothering you or the people around you.

If you change the duration, it will remember it the next time you activate theater mode. So I can scroll down if I disable, then re-enable theater mode.

It's now set to three hours, as you can see. This toggle turns on or off your wireless network. This toggle attempts to connect to the last pair of earbuds you connected.

If the connection fails, it reverts to the great color. If it works, it will stay blue and show you how much battery life you have left on your wireless earbuds or headphones, and if I tap it again, it will disconnect.

This is the toggle for touch sensitivity that I showed you earlier. Here's the toggle for NFC, and here's the toggle for airplane mode. Last but not least, you can turn your GPS on or off.

If you have any of these quick toggles that affect the functionality of the watch enabled, you'll see little icons at the top indicating which toggles are active.

So I can see that I have do not disturb mode, feeder mode, and power saving modes enabled right now, and this is especially useful if you turn the toggle on and are wondering why your watch isn't performing as well as you'd like it to.

Simply look at the top of your watch face to see if anything has been accidentally turned on. When connected to a non-Samsung Android device, you get nearly full functionality.

If you want to see everything that's missing when connected to a non-Samsung Android device, as well as some workarounds to restore most of that functionality.

You must use your phone to launch the Galaxy Wearable application, which was installed when you first set up your Galaxy Watch. When you open the app, go to watch settings, then advanced features, and scroll all the way down until you see remote connection.

Then, on the left side of the toggle, you can enable remote connection as well as this calling mode, which allows you to send and receive calls and texts from your Galaxy Watch 4 even when you're not connected to your phone via Bluetooth. This also applies to the non-LTE version of the watch.

As a result, you don't need a mobile plan to do this. The only requirement for this to work is that the Galaxy Watch 4 or classic be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Unfortunately, when you first set up your Galaxy Watch 4, all of the Wi-Fi networks you're logged into on your phone were automatically transferred to the watch, and when you lose Bluetooth connection from your phone, the watch will automatically turn on Wi-Fi and connect to the nearest Wi-Fi network.

The one caveat is that if you're connected to a non-Samsung Android device, you won't be able to make or receive phone calls remotely.

Fortunately, you can still remotely send and receive texts, and while we're on the subject of messages, if you're in your messages app and you're in a specific text with either a person or a group of people, scroll all the way down to the bottom, then back up a little bit.

As you can see, you have the option of sending your exact GPS location to. If you find yourself missing notifications when you have headphones on, there is a setting in the Galaxy Watch 4 that can help you with that, which is incredibly useful for trying to meet up with people in a busy place like a theme park.

Simply launch your settings app. Then it tapped notifications, then scrolled down to see an option called read notifications aloud, which it turned on. This will automatically read the notifications in your headphones when they arrive, and in case you're wondering, this only applies to notifications while the headphones are connected.

It will no longer read the notifications aloud. Touch to wake up is disabled by default on the Galaxy Watch 4 and classic. So no matter how much I touch the screen, it will not wake up. If you prefer to wake up by touching the screen rather than turning your wrist, the bezel, or one of the buttons, you can do so by going to settings.

Scroll down until you see touch screen to wake, then scroll down again. Once this is enabled, if I turn off the screen and then tap it, it will wake up. One thing to keep in mind is that it keeps a touch sensitivity on the screen active at all times. As a result, your battery life will be slightly reduced for this next feature.

We must return to the phone's galaxy wearable application, then go to watch settings, advanced features, and then tap S.O.S. This is a fantastic safety feature that consists of two parts. When you triple-press the home key, the first section is activated.

This will send a message to any of your emergency contacts informing them that you require immediate assistance. It will also share your GPS location, and it will be your active GPS location, which means you will be able to follow you around.

Galaxy Watch 4 Features!

This is especially useful in the unlikely event that you are abducted. Another thing it will do is send an S.O.S. call to any emergency contact you specify, and this call will be sent at the lowest audible volume possible to keep you safe.

When you tap the text, you get another option. So, if I enable this and accept the terms, I also get the option to have a countdown timer appear before sending those messages. So if I go to my watch and press the home button, it will give me a few seconds to cancel that, and this is a great feature to enable if you don't want to make emergency calls by accident.

If you're curious, 911 one can be one of your emergency contacts. The second component of this safety feature is hard fall detection. This uses the accelerometers in your watch to determine if you've had a fall.

This could include something as simple as falling off a mountain bike on a trail or being involved in a car accident, and if a hard fall is detected, you'll receive a notification on your watch, and if you don't dismiss that notification within 60 seconds, it'll send the S.O.S. message to your emergency contacts as well as make the emergency call, which is especially useful for someone who is elderly and prone to falling.

If they have this feature enabled by default, it could literally save their life. Sleep talking provides useful information about how well you slept.

However, if you want a more in-depth analysis, there are a couple of extra features you can enable. You must launch the Samsung health app on your phone. Scroll down to go to sleep. Tap on that. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner while you're on this page.

Then you'll notice additional options such as blood, oxygen during sleep, and snore detection. However, oxygen during sleep will track your blood oxygen levels continuously as you sleep and will even give you your minimum and maximum blood oxygen levels, which could be very helpful in determining if you have sleep apnea, which is when you stop breathing periodically while sleeping.

If you're curious, here's what the graph will look like if you enable this feature, and while I do have one dip here, down to 87 percent, I'm not too concerned because that could just be the watch sliding up for part of the measurement while I slept.

However, if you notice anything that concerns you, you should definitely consult your doctor and have some additional testing done. So detection is simply that. It detects snoring at night, but you can also have it record audio so you can hear yourself snoring. That recording is done on your phone.

So you'll need to keep your phone near you while sleeping, and keep in mind that because your phone can use its microphone all night to listen for snoring, it's best to keep it charged. In terms of snoring data. Because I don't snore, I don't have any. But if I did, this is where the information would appear by default.

When tracking exercise, if you swipe over and simply complete the exercise, it will be saved as a single exercise session. However, this is not very useful for people who do a variety of workouts in a single session.

"Also read: Rolex Classic "Oyster Perpetual" vs. Apple Smart Watch "

Let's say you go to the gym and start on the treadmill, but then you do some bicep curls, leg presses, and a bunch of other exercises. You probably want to combine all of those workouts into one session in that single workout session, and fortunately, there is a way to do so. So I started a new exercise routine.

I'm going to swipe over, and instead of finishing this exercise and moving on to the next, I'm going to pause it. Then I'm going to tap knew in the upper left corner. I'm going to do a different exercise now.

This time, I'll use the weight machine, and let's say I use it for a few minutes. When I pause it again and tap new, I'll finish that exercise, and then we'll select a third workout. Let's start with a treadmill and finish that workout.

This is now saved as a single session with three workouts, and if I scroll down, I can see that I was on the treadmill and that I had previously used a weight machine, and before that, I used to cycle. Those workouts I just showed you were too brief to see any additional information.

However, if you did a real workout for any significant amount of time, then tapped that workout within that session, you'd be able to see more details about that specific workout, and another quick tip, if you tap the heart rate zone section, it will actually switch to a bar graph to show you exactly how long you were in each of these zones.

We're talking about exercise tracking here. I do want to show you a couple of extra, undiscovered features of the exercise tracking app. First and foremost, if you ever need to pause or resume a workout. All you have to do is press and hold the back button for a few seconds.

I just started working out again. I pause the workout if I hold it again. Even more useful is the fact that you can actually swipe up on this information screen to get even more details about your workout.

You can now swipe up to see even more details. Swipe up again, and you can see your running symmetry, which indicates how much time you're spending on each foot. This will help you determine if you favor one leg over the other, and the information screens change depending on the workout. Obviously, you won't see this asymmetry screen if you're weightlifting.

If I swipe up again, I can customize both of these information screens. I simply swipe to the left, go to settings, tap workout screen, then tap data screen one or data screen too.

Now, data screen one is the top screen, and data screen two is a screen that appeared when I swiped up once. So, if I tap one of these, I'll be able to select the data screen layout.

So if I choose this one, I'll get a lot of information, and if I tap one of the cells, I can choose something else to show. And, as you can see, there are numerous options.
