Upgrade Apple Watch Series 3; Today I'm going to try to help you decide whether it's worth upgrading to an Apple Watch Series 8 if you already have a Series 3.
So the Apple Watch Series 3 was released in 2017, which is a long time ago, and it had a few new features such as the ability to add a cellular plan for the first time or a faster processor that made it slightly faster than the Series 2.
However, as with every Apple Watch model, the sole additions of one model did not make it worthwhile to upgrade from the previous one, and this is what happened with the Apple Series 4 the following year.
However, 5 years have passed since then, which is a long time, and every single year a new Apple Watch has been released, at least some years we have two, this year we have three, but overall they have been adding a couple new features that over time stack up to make it worth it upgrade.
So we're going to go through all the new features from every single Apple Watch and then come to a conclusion on whether it is worth upgrading.
Apple watch series 4 features
In 2018, the Apple Watch Series 4 was released, which is the one I have. This new Apple Watch had a number of features that set it apart from the Apple Watch Series 3.
The most notable of these was a brand new redesign that was present until the Apple Watch series, but the new Apple Watch SC also has that same design.
With that new design, the bezels were shrunk and the screens went from 38 to 40 millimeters and 42 to 44 millimeters. It also included a brand new 64-bit processor, which was, in my opinion, the first time the Apple Watch was fast enough to use.
I remember having the original Apple Watch, which was extremely slow. Aside from that, a couple of new hard features were added, such as the ability to take ecgs, which gradually expanded to different regions of the world, and irregular hard rhythm notifications, which would, of course, notify you if your heartbeat was too high or too low.
Last but not least, it added fall detection, which could detect if you had fallen and if you didn't respond within a minute, it would call emergency services, then your location, and also notify your emergency contacts.

Apple Watch Series 5 features
The Apple Watch Series 5 added three new features. For starters, it had a compass for the first time, which allowed you to get better indications in the maps app. For example, if you navigated with the maps up, you could see where you were facing, as opposed to the Series 4 which only showed where you were but not where you were facing.
It also included an always-on display for the first time, which has been a big deal about the Apple Watch since it was first introduced in Series 5. Last but not least, it had 32 gigabytes of storage rather than 16.
Apple watch series 6 features
Next, with the apple series 6, two new features were added: a percent faster processor, which is actually the same processor that has been in the series seven and now in the series eight, and a blood oxygen sensor, which allows you to measure the oxygen in your blood, of course, and if I'm not mistaken, not that I'm any medical expert or anything, I believe it helps you to see how fit you are.

Apple watch series 7 features
To be fair, there were a few new features with the Apple Watch Series 7. First, it was the first redesign since the Apple Watch Series 4; it now has smaller vessels and case sizes are one millimeter larger.
It also enables fast charging but only with the included cable; and finally, it added certification for ip6x dust resistance and wr50 water resistance, which means it's very waterproof and dust proof.
Apple watch series 8 features
Essentially, the Series 8 has three new features. It has a brand new temperature sensor, which actually has two of them, one on the bottom and one on the top for more accurate readings.
If you have your period, it will help you predict which phase of your cycle you will be in next. It has crash detections and a brand new temperature sensor, which actually has two, one on the bottom and one on the top. So it has high geforce accelerometers and can detect a car crash, which hopefully no one will ever need, but it's good to know it's there.
Finally, and this feature is exclusive to the cellular models, it now supports cellular roaming, which is actually pretty cool because if you're traveling, you can also have your data plan on your apple watch, and that's basically it. Of course, Apple also announced the Apple Watch Ultra, which is insane and has so many new features.

To use your Apple Watch Series 3 with watchOS 7, you must first pair it with an iPhone 6s or later running iOS 14 or later.
ECG and SpO2 readings are provided, as well as fall detection and a compass. We don't recommend purchasing one brand new, but if you already have one, it may be time to upgrade.
Wearing a watch to bed is not recommended if it interferes with your sleep or causes distraction. Apple Watches emit low levels of Electromagnetic Frequency (EF), allowing you to wear it at night in the short term.
If your battery is depleting faster than it should, there could be an issue with how your watch and phone are linked. There are two temperature sensors on the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra. One is near your skin on the back crystal, and another is just beneath the display.
Apple Watch measures your wrist temperature every five seconds while you sleep. By reducing bias from the outside environment, this design improves accuracy.
The Apple Watch battery could be in a deep discharge state. The battery may be incapable of holding a charge depending on the battery status at the time of storage and how long the Apple Watch has been stored.
The estimated update time may occasionally change and quickly jump to 5 hours, 3 or 5 days. The Apple Watch Series 3 was released in 2017, but it is still available for $199 today. For example, Apple's trade-in program will give you up to $30 (in-store credit) for an Apple Watch series 1.
When your iPhone is nearby, you can use the watch to send and receive texts as well as make and receive phone calls. It's probably the biggest improvement for the Apple Watch ever, including the original, because we kind of knew what we were expecting, but the Apple Watch will try so hard that it's insane in every way.
As a result, if you're still using an Apple Watch Series 3, I strongly believe you should upgrade this year, especially since your battery I don't know how your battery is, but my Series 4 is already struggling to get to the end of the day and I don't want to imagine a Series 3.
Also, the Series 3 is not updating to Watch OS 9, which is the most recent version for the Apple Watch, and thus will not have the most recent features. However, because the feature list is so long, and prices have risen everywhere except in the US this year, I would seriously consider other options.

So, for example, if you see a series seven on a very good discount, perhaps half price or even two hundred dollars, as I've seen them, I don't usually recommend it, but I think you could upgrade to a series seven because you'd save some money and have basically the same features except for a couple that were added in the series 8.
However, if you have the money, I would recommend going for the latest, which is the series 8, because you will be set for a longer period of time. However, we also have the apple watch se, which is a budget model that is significantly less expensive than the series 8 and has a few features that the series 8 does not have.
One of those features is the brand new redesign that came with the Series 7, but if you're coming from the Series 3, you'll still see a significant design improvement with the se but yeah, that's all from me today, if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments.
