Today we'll look at whether it's worthwhile to upgrade from an Apple Watch Series 4 to an Apple Watch Series 8.
So Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 8 yesterday, along with the Apple Watch Ultra and the new generation Apple Watch Se, and it has a couple new features compared to the Series 7.
Today we're stacking it up against the Series 4 because a couple of features have been added into every generation, and yeah, it makes for a good list, a long list, and we'll see if it's worth it.
Apple watch series 4 new features.
We'll go through each apple watch in order to see which features were added with each one. First, the Apple Watch Series 5 added three new features for the first time.
For one, it had a compass for the first time, which allowed you to get better indications in the maps app, for example, if you navigated with the maps up that way you could see where you were facing as opposed to the Series 4 which could only see where you were but not where you were facing. It also had an always-on display and, last but not least, 32 gigabytes of storage as opposed to 16.

Apple watch series 6 new features.
Following that, with the series 6, two new features were added: a fifty percent faster processor, which is the same as that found in the series seven and now the series eight.
A blood oxygen sensor, of course, which allows you to measure the oxygen in your blood, and if I'm not mistaken, not that I'm any medical expert or anything, I believe it helps you to see how fit you are.
To be fair, there were a few new features with the Apple Watch Series 7. Finally, it added certification for ip6x dust resistance and wr50 water resistance, indicating that it is very waterproof and dust proof
Apple watch series 8 new features.
Series 8 is now available, and it includes three new features. So, first and foremost, it's a brand new temperature sensor that has two, one on the bottom and one on the top for more accurate readings, and what it does is, of course, measure your temperature, but if you have your period, it will help you predict which phase of your period you're in next.
It also has crash detections, which means it has high g-force accelerometers and can detect if you're in a car crash, which hopefully is a feature no one will ever need but it's good to know it's there.
Finally, and this feature is exclusive to the cellular models, it now supports roaming on cellular, which is actually pretty good because if you're traveling you can also have your data plan on your apple watch.

Apple Watch Ultra Features.
Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch Ultra, which is insane and has so many new features that it's likely the most significant improvement to the Apple Watch ever.
Even though we knew what to expect from the original Apple Watch, the Apple Watch will try to outdo itself in every way.
So I believe an upgrade is due this year, and I'm definitely going to make the switch if you're not in that situation, i.e. if your battery is showing signs of wear.
I'd say go for it and get the Apple Watch Series 8, but if it's not and you're not super excited about any of the new features, such as if you don't really navigate with the Apple Watch, I'd say pass.
So no need for the compass You can probably skip it if you don't care about your body temperature or anything like that.
If you have an Apple Watch Series 4. I believe it is an upgrade. Also, if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.
